Create a short URL

To use the feature Browser Bookmarklets in your toolbar

Does not work in Internet Explorer, but in several other web browsers such as Firefox

IE users are therefore referred to visit wp.nu to use the service.

Drag the text Shorten with a custom alias and/or Shorten without a custom alias to your toolbar. (Rename shortcuts to whatever..)

When you visit a page you want to refer to (that has too long URL) as in my example. You simply click on "Short with a custom alias"

You will then get a text box, fill in whatever you want, as in my example; AB96 (for Aftonbladet vintage 1996)

click ok and the second after you've created your custom shortened URL with "WP shortener":

You can try and see what happens: wp.nu/AB96

If the custumization isnt important for you, you simply use the other shortcut and let the service choose a short URL for you:

.. such as wp.nu/4.

[wp.nu] is published for my own needs in URL shortening, but it is free for anyone to use.
